Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V.
Website relaunch & film production
VUCX designed the website of the non-profit organisation with a focus on an improved user experience as well as an intuitive interface for the editors. All this was done in the CMS Drupal, which was already firmly anchored in the organisation.
Furthermore, we produced a series of explanatory films on topics such as data protection and the use of social media.
Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V. (DsiN) is the central point of contact for citizens and SMEs on IT security issues. As a non-profit alliance, DsiN supports consumers and small businesses in working safely and confidently with the digital world. For this purpose, DsiN offers concrete assistance as well as participation and learning opportunities for people in private and professional environments in cooperation with its members and partners.
From a technical perspective, content migration, automatic content retrieval from external sources, creation of an API for mobile applications, push notifications, extended functionality of Views module are to be mentioned together with the Panels module.
At first, we migrated almost 1,300 articles and divided them into different content types, including the taxonomy.
Part of the content is automatically obtained from the DsiN blog and displayed in the slider on the start page.
The SiBa - Safety Barometer app accesses the content via the interface. The editor has the option of sending a push notification when content is published. For this purpose, the Push Notifications module was used.
The biggest challenge was to create complex relationships between different content and topics while providing a simple and intuitive interface for the editors.
Explainer videos
VUCX has created a series of explanatory films for the "Digital Neighbourhood" initiative of Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V.. The films, which are based on an educational concept, are aimed at associations that act as multipliers to teach their members and their families and friends about safety on the net. The VUCX team was not only responsible for design and production, but also developed the entire concept including storyboards and took over the illustration of the characters.
